An LSV and an ordinary golf cart follow different rules.
Holmes Beach regulates golf carts separately from registered LSVs. Do not use a road’s low speed limit as blanket permission for an ordinary golf cart.
The city code specifically restricts ordinary golf carts on Palm Drive, Gulf Drive and the 5300–6600 block of Marina Drive, with crossings addressed separately. Registered LSVs have their own provisions.
Treat parking signs as part of the route.
Choose lawful parking near your destination. The city’s code addresses parking in designated spaces and public lots; it does not turn sidewalks, bicycle paths, beach accesses or the sand into cart routes.
Keep every passenger within the cart’s seating capacity and use the seat belts. Ask about suitable restraints before booking a trip with young children.
